DATABIRD Once Again Approved on the Water ‘Water Technologies List’
EMT’s ‘DATABIRD’ AMR System and ‘DYNAMAT’ meter data analsis software has been on the WTL since its inceptiopn circa 2001 as a water leakage detection tool. The system has recently bee re-tested and EMT can confirm that the DTABIRD/ DYNAMAT combination came through with flying colours.
The Water Technology List (WTL) is managed by AEA Group on behalf of Defra and HM Revenue and Customs and provides details of approved products which allow 100% Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA) giving first year, upfront tax relief on the capital cost of the equipment.
The scheme is designed as an incentive for businesses to invest in environmentally friendly, efficient products and technologies that promote the efficient use of water. As well as saving money claiming these ECA’s businesses that purchase these products will also of course save money on their water bills.
The WTL is available on the web and as well as the benefits of providing details of products eligible for the ECA water scheme acts as a sustainable procurement tool.
Details are as follows:
Category: Leakage Detection Equipment
Model Number: DATABIRD
WTL Ref: 470
The DATA BIRD/DYNAMAT combination has identified many million metres cube of water savings since its BRE award winning introduction in 1994. The first site it was installed on was ‘RAF Henlow’ where it immediately identified on-site water leakage of 25m³/hr, 24 hours per day which was costing the taxpayer over £180,000 a year.
In 2010 EMT’s customer ‘Oxford Instruments’ (OI) installed the DATA BIRD/ DYNAMAT system primarily for CRC requirements. EMT monitored all utilities on three separate sites, these meters are: gas, water, electricity and oil. OI identified water leakage which in the first year saved them more that 50% of the cost of the system.
